IT WAS ALMOST WEIRD TO GO out without his boyfriend at his side. but he hadn't wanted to wake the older boy up before he had to. besides, it would probably be easier for him if he was alone. yeah he had told karen that he was in a relationship now and he was the happiest he's been in god knows how long. but mentioning the little fact that hew as actually in a relationship with another guy hadn't really been confirmed. or said in anyway. but, yes, he was dating someone in a bad. that part was probably the only accurate thing out of that whole conversation he had. sure, he was more confident while being in his relationship with jager, but he still feared what could happen with the people he loved. or maybe he was just being his normal paranoid, self-conscious self. but losing someone so close, well, that would kill jaspar. it really would. but maybe he should just stop being such a baby about it. that would save a whole lot of frustration on his part at least. yeah, he wanted people to know that jager was his. (he really couldn't stop the smile that formed on his lips whenever he thought about it.) and yeah, jaspar had been more comfortable being affectionate in public. it wouldn't surprise him if someone had already started the rumor long ago. but anyway.
after slipping out of the covers and jager's grip, he made his way through doing all of the morning routines. and yeah, there was a smile on his face through most of the things. but why wouldn't there be? he was finally going to be able to see baby girl after way too long. the girl was something that was far too important for jaspar to just let her sit thousands of miles away from him. sure, there was nightly phone calls and all of that, but he missed seeing the way her beautiful baby blues lit up when she smiled. he missed the way she could always try to hug him with all her strength whenever he saw her. hearing her voice had been good enough for a while, but he still missed all those little things. but today would change that. misty and karen were currently waiting for him at one of the hotels where he'd be able to see his little girl and be able to take her out somewhere. and maybe jager will finally be able to meet her. sure, he'd be introduced as a friend, but he would understand, wouldn't he?
his teeth clung onto his bottom lip as he looked over at the sleeping form of his boyfriend, a small smile on his lips as he watched how a sort of innocence, a sort of fragility, clung over his features. and he almost laughed. almost. grabbing a pen and a piece of paper, he left a note for jager simply saying that he was going to pick up misty and that he'd see him soon. and, of course, that he loved him. jaspar placed the note somewhere he knew jager would find it. or hoped that he would at least. you never could tell with those sort of things. but hey, who was he to complain about it? things like that had always sort of happened to him. sometimes it caused him trouble. only sometimes though. but hey, he was still a teenager, an older one, but still a teenager nonetheless. some things that happened involving him could still be understandable. no?
he looked at his boyfriend for a moment longer before heading out. shoes hitting against black tar and gray cement as he walked, he took in the scenery from where he was. where that was exactly? well, jaspar really could not tell you. he lost track a long time ago. but that's okay. sometimes, the location of where he was didn't matter all that much. and, as cheesy as it sounded, all that he cared was that jager was there with him. and yeah, maybe he sort of missed the boy since he left the house, feeling some sort of connection between them. a hand holding his, an arm around his shoulders. but he could live for a little bit without it. after all, it wasn't like he needed the boy around all the time. it'd be nice to, but not necessary. after all, he had made it through eighteen, nineteen years without the boy. he could live with a few hours. right?
maybe not, as he felt the nerves boiling inside of him as he walked up the steps toward the hotel room. sure, there was nothing to really be nervous about. except for the fact it was his ex-girlfriend that he was seeing. yeah, sure, the two were still friends, close friends, but he still felt weird, nervous, when he went to go see her. and now with the fact he was in a relationship, he wasn't sure how she would react to seeing him. even if she did seem to sound happy for him. in the reality of it all, she would probably just hound him with a thousand and one questions about who he was dating and yelling at him for not bringing "her" along. (yeah, he was still working on that coming out part of everything. but he was nervous and scared. could you blame him?) but he just shook those feelings away and continued moving forward. he didn't need anything from stopping him from seeing his baby girl. no, he probably couldn't deal with that. taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door, waiting awkwardly outside for someone to open.
soon though, he was being tackled down by both girls. okay, not tackled, but hugged. same difference. and he really couldn't help the large grin that formed on his at the "daddy! daddy! daddy!" coming from misty. though, he could have gone without the million questions that followed after with the hour he stayed there with them. (really, he had just wanted to grab misty and leave. not to be mean or anything, but still. he just wanted to catch up on his misty time.) but the two eventually left, heading out of the hotel and to one of the parks. carrying the girl on his back, he smiled as he talked animatedly about everything. her new friends at pre-school, at day care, the "bestest" present that grandma murphy had gotten her. yeah, jaspar definitely missed her more than anything. and part of him really hated himself for being away. misty had grown up so much. her speaking was much clearer than it had been before, and her sentences were getting better. and just.. look at her. she was taller, even if it was a few inches. and she looked more like her mother from the last time he had seen her. but she was here with him now, and that's all that mattered. he wasn't going to let his thoughts get him down for missing so much.
and maybe the time flew by with the two playing together. a smile had been on his lips the whole time. his eyes widened a bit as he looked at his phone and noticed the time. and seeing the several missed calls (those, which he just ignored). he looked over at misty who was now occupying herself in a sandbox for a moment, before looking down at his phone. opening up a new message form, he quickly typed in the message of "meet me at the park" before sending it to jager. afterward, he placed the phone back into his pocket and went back to give his daughter his attention once again.

The warm comfort of knowing that you were falling asleep holding everything that mattered most to you in your arms could be a lot of pressure for someone to hold. But when you were sure of your grip and that it wasn’t going to slip, you shouldn’t have a problem. For Jager, he was perfectly content with his arms wrapped around Jaspar’s thin body. Ever since they had taken the time to really actually sleep with one another, he’d gained a very protective attribute about keeping Jaspar safe at night. Maybe it was just for the fact that Jager was fearing one of those panic attacks that he didn’t want to have to go through again. Oh no. Jaspar’s paranoia had been at it’s peak and Jager had been delighted enough to be graced in it’s presence. Though, he wouldn’t give up comforting Jaspar for anything. He was truly worried when it came to his boyfriend’s safety along with his sanity. He’d never question it, even if Jaspar did. There were just some things you couldn’t change about yourself no matter how hard you tried. Jaspar just so happened to be stuck with that drive of an instability with his mind and how it worked. Jager could deal with that. He himself had gone through a good enough time period of shock and just plain surprise when he had come home from being over seas. Everything had seemed so different the minute his feet happened to hit that pavement on the exit to the runway. But that was a year ago and things could surely change over the stretch of a year.
That protective sense seemed to be lodged in his brain; meaning the minute he felt Jaspar start to shift against him, his grip on the boy subconsciously tightened to keep him drawn tight against his bare chest. So, Jaspar might have practically been caught in a suffocating hold, but at least he was safe, right? When the other had actually wrestled out of Jager’s hold, the tan skinned boy just groaned some and gripped the sheets to jerk them up to his shoulder before rolled his body over on where Jaspar’s should
[/u] have been. His face pressed tightly into the pillow that was now drowning in Jaspar’s scent. Even though Jager seemed to always be the one to be dishing out the comfort, that smell seemed to make the restless sleeper calm down enough to tumble back into the deep sleep he had been engaged in just a few minutes before. Even though he was unconscious, he could feel the temperature change on the bed. He didn’t like it. Somewhere in the back of his head, it connected to the reason why the bed suddenly felt so cold. Jaspar was gone. That wasn’t good. He wasn’t supposed to be gone. He was supposed to be tangled up against Jager’s body, waiting for him to wake up so he could actually release those chain like arms from around his body. But he was gone. That was supposed to wake Jager up, wasn’t it? The sort of worry that was driving through his slow thoughts wasn’t enough to stir him from the way his face just pressed tighter into the pillow so his body could try and convince his thoughts that Jaspar was in fact still there. It seemed like it was enough, considering he just shifted lightly and settled back into the comforting hold of the soft mattress below his gangly body. Just nicking past a have hour since Jaspar’s leaving, the veteran turned again with a louder groan sounding from his parched lips. Jager hated feeling like this. Every time he woke up, he felt like he had to remember how to get control over his body all over again. He lifted a hand, wincing at the slight smack against his forehead from his hand having a mind of its own before he could push the heel of his palm against his eye as if to rub the sleep from them. “Jaspar, what ti-” He stopped, realize his position in the bed and just how alone it was. Jager sat up quickly, earning him a nice head rush from his body moving too quickly when it wasn’t ready to. He groaned again, feeling his whole body trying to speed up and catch up with the height of his thoughts at they raced. Blinking his eyes, he took the time to get used to the change of light from the windows being drawn some. Jaspar was gone. The panic settled in, making his heart race while his eyes scanned the lining of the room. Nothing was out of place. Just the slopping discarded clothing from last night. As childish as it was, a whine actually slipped from Jager’s lips as he tried to coordinate his overly stretched body over the side of the bed. His hands hooked against the side, pushing him away from the comforting fabric and up onto the soft, cushioning carpet. Jager really wasn’t taking in the fact that he had been reminded countless times that today was the day Jaspar would be with Misty, but then again how would he remember when just being woken from a sleep in a panic? The least Jaspar could of done would have been at least shake Jager or something to mutter he was leaving. At least that way he would be able to sort of recall a memory of being half awake and hearing his boyfriend verbally saying he was leaving. Instead, he stumbled forward; having to slap the bed side table to keep himself up right. It was then when he went to pull his hand away he felt a whisper of paper follow after his dark hand. Growling at himself, he picked it up and held it away from his face to take in the wording. His eyes adjusted to the writing, still seeming slightly blurry from the lack of glasses or contacts. He was helpless to read without them. Sighing, Jager simply tucked the paper in his hand and stumbled out of the bedroom to kitchen. He grabbed his glassed off the cover and shoved them on his face. Yeah, he was never the type of person you wanted to be around in the morning; always groggy and cranky without his first dose of coffee. His eyes rolled over the words, feeling a bit of relief when he reminded himself that Jaspar had indeed gone to get Misty. Maybe his eyes happened to stare at those letters that arranged those three words a little too long, but he couldn’t help it. Call him whipped; what ever you wanted. He was tied down to the boy like a bow strapped on a Christmas present. Confirming that his worries didn’t need to be so high alerted, Jager just fixed himself a cup of coffee and plopped his abnormally gangly frame down on the couch. The boxer briefs that were clinging to his body needed to be adjusted. They were riding against his thighs and that was one thing that Jager could not stand. Pulling the fabric out longer against his thin thigh, he set the coffee mug down on the table centered before the couch. His hand then replaced the mug with the remote to flick on the television in request for something to watch. Without Jaspar here, everything was different. He was so used to his company that Jager didn’t really know what to do with himself. He felt so out of place when he was here all by himself. Really, he couldn’t be expected to know what to do when all of his time had previously been spent with Jaspar, could he? Sure, he’d gone by twenty two years without the other, but that was before. There was just something about the way they he had changed things for Jager that made him realize how much of a fix he really needed of his addiction. Jaspar wasn’t a type of drug, but if he happened to be Jager wasn’t sure just how far he’d go to get some. Again, the childish side he possessed rather tastefully got to him and made him snort at the pun he had no intention of making. Jager settled on a random channel; having it be TMZ with the latest flair in the tour interest. Smirking to himself, he reached for his mug and took a sip of the liquid that was finally cool enough to where it wouldn’t scold his throat if he took a simple sip. But that one sip almost happened to get caught in his throat when he saw the flash of his own face along with his boyfriend’s on the screen. Jager coughed profusely to rack the harsh breath caught in his throat before listening intently to the commentary on the picture they had captured. He had to admit; it was actually nice to see the press finally catching something. Even if it was just a simple touch of his own lips against Jaspar’s cheek, it was enough to make them have a field day. And that smile. It was one thing Jager would never want to give up for his life. The way Jaspar just looked so light; so happy. It made his stomach churn with a feeling of accomplishment knowing he had been the reason for that smile so brightly lighting the boy’s face. Sighing contently to himself, Jager eased back against the couch and shifted his position to get more comfortable. The story changed and he listened but only half attentive. His thoughts were caught on just how much he was caught up with Jaspar Murphy. It would always be too much, but never enough. At least, that’s the way he saw it. The feeling of his phone pleasantly vibrating against his inner thigh had sent Jager jumping violently in the soft position he had claimed on the lengthy couch. He could feel the coffee wave in his cup, turning his eyes to the brim to make sure none had slipped over. He was safe. Quickly setting the glass down, he picked up his phone and scanned over the message neatly displayed on the screen. The park? It seemed like a good play to put themselves. But wait. Misty. Jaspar had Misty. This meant he’d be meeting his boyfriend’s daughter for the first time today. Yet again, the childishness slipped through the easily cracked parental figure and a squeal admitted from his lips before he launched himself up off the couch and quickly darted into the bedroom. But his quick actions didn’t go unpunished. Still being under the early morning (at least for him, early morning) spell, his elbow had graciously smacked against the door frame. Jager howled in protest, letting a few rushed profanities fly from his lips before he was thrusting his legs into his tight jeans. He jerked a useless belt around his waist and latched it before he retrieve a shirt that would at least match the flamboyant colored jeans that were easily hugging his curves(god, he was gay.) He retrieve a hoodie from the closet, because even though it was summer and he was venturing out into the park, it was still a bitch to fight off the change of summer to fall without a sweatshirt. Jager then turned and quickly skipped to the bathroom that was closely located next to the bedroom. He glanced over his appearance, quickly driving a hand through the fit of curls topping his head. He needed a hair cut. That was for sure. Over the next five minutes, his feet were comfortably fitted in a pair of his favorite Nikes and he was retrieving his cell phone from where he had tossed it on the counter (and where it had been placed again after it had happened to drop from the counter and onto the floor from Jager rushing to get it out of his hands) and quickly slid on a pair of sunglasses. He wouldn’t be doing any reading anyway. What was the need for his regular glasses? Finally stepping out of the apartment and flinging himself down the flight of stairs to finally get to where he needed. The sidewalk was busy; as it always was in the middle of a summer day. As normal, Jager stuck out like a sore thumb because of his height. Well, at least it had it’s advantages sometimes. Other times, it was just a nuisance to be hosted up so high above everyone else. He took in the fresh air his nose was greedily swallowing, realizing how much he loved to be outside. Jager really wasn’t a fan of being cooped up in an apartment all day. He needed to get out; be lively. He wasn’t the type of person that could sit there and read for hours and hours. Maybe one or two would do, but never more than that. His body would not allow him to just sit there without constantly moving after being still for more than forty five minutes. So, being able to dancing around a stage and sing his heart out for hundreds of people was the perfect job for him, or at least that’s what he thought. Jager would be a little worried what he’d be like if he was forced to sit in one room for a whole day. He’d still find some way to entertain himself, or at least he’d try. With the park entrance now in sight, Jager could feel the nervousness start to settle into his system. For someone that was normally perfectly fine in situations where new people were placed in, he wasn’t all too confident about meeting Jaspar’s daughter. Of course, Jager was wonderful with children. He was a still a child himself, but meeting his boyfriend’s child seemed different. He had happened to get close to Jaspar, so maybe he could get close to Misty to. Breathing in through his nose, he shoved his hands into his pockets and focused on where his feet were taking him. He slipped past the entrance and glanced around the park in request of where Jaspar just might be. The play ground seemed like a plausible place to be. So, Jager turned himself and started to wander off through the threaded paths that so eagerly twisted through the park. Really, Jager didn’t want it to bother him that Jaspar had yet to really explained just how important, or at least he hoped how important, he was to the boy. Sure, they could go around explaining him as ‘just a friend’ but how long would that take before it really started to bruise the way Jager felt? Never would his own feelings deteriorate, but he wouldn’t lie. He didn’t like being called just a friend. Especially when he had worked so hard to be everything more than that. He didn’t just want to be Jaspar’s friend. The boy meant too much to him for Jager to really do anything about it though. He knew Jaspar needed time to get comfortable enough to explain to his family. And he would wait, how ever long he would have to without having to pressure Jaspar into telling them what Jager really was. His chocolate eyes fell over that rounded back. That red-tinted hair and those square shoulders was a dead give away that he had indeed found who he needed to find. Instantly, Jager tore his eyes away from where Jaspar was and spotted the girl who seemed entranced by what ever the boy was saying. Jager felt a grin easily slid into the space over his lips. He stopped his feet and just watched for a long moment. It made him feel bad for almost interrupting that. Seeing Jaspar with his daughter made him confirm his earlier thoughts. There would never be a replacement for the happiness Misty brought him. Strangely, Jager was okay with that. Normally the fight for the jealously would of taken over but not in this case. It was different here. He could really understand why Misty meant so much to Jaspar. And really, it was just like comparing the way Jager felt about the boy before him who was unknowingly being watched. Not one person before Jaspar had ever found the correct path to Jager’s heart, but Jaspar had even though he didn’t really have to try. It made his chest swell with the affection while he watched the duo easily connect in the sad box. Deciding it was now or never for things to finally work like they needed them to, Jager casually slipped forward toward the wooden frame that was surrounding the grainy sediment. Could he do this? Surely, it was worth it. If Jager ever really planned on fully fitting into Jaspar’s life, he would need to do this. He was nervous, yes, but he was sure he could get this over with. Besides, on the inside he was excited to meet the little girl. Taking in a deep breath and holding it in his lungs, Jager let it out quietly while he eased down into a squatting position next to Jaspar. Surely, he looked strange just suddenly dropping in like this, but what was he supposed to do? Turning his eyes on his boyfriend for a quick darting moment, he quickly tugged them back to the little girl who was seemingly perched in the sand and comfortably content. Jager could pick out the feature he knew; connecting them with the ones Jaspar possessed. But as well as seeing those traits, he saw some he didn’t recognize. For instance, those soft blue eyes that happened to catch his in a quick, curious glance up in his lean direction. Feeling a friendly smile settle against his lips, he rocked on the balls of his feet. “Hi, Misty,” The slightest of accents traced along his voice that was still sickly thick with the bit of sleep he was warding off from only waking up about an hour ago. TODAY, WELL, TODAY WOULD PROBABLY BE one of jaspar's favorite days. and not just because he was with misty. sure, that played some part into it. but just the fact that jager was going to be meeting her was enough to fulfill it all. the boyfriend meeting the daughter. it was enough to make jaspar be too excited and nervous all at the same time. but to him, he thought it would be a good thing. for all of them. maybe he should have been scared that something bad would go on or happen, but he really didn't want to think about that. today was going to be a good day. no matter what. he was going to make sure of it. two of the most important people had to get along in some way, didn't they? jaspar's little world couldn't come crashing down because misty was scared of jager or the boy thought misty was too spoiled or something. no, he almost really needed this to all work out. it would help him be more comfortable released the details of his life to other people. like, you know, the rest of the family. starting with the most important sounded like a good idea. to him, at least.
smiling down at his daughter, he kept his mind mostly focused on his boyfriend and how'd they'd get along. and... yeah, probably not the best thing on the planet to do. 'cause yeah, spacing out while watching a four year old was not a good thing. shaking the thoughts out of his head, he started to pay the most his attention would allow him on his daughter. after all, she was his life. anything bad happened to her and he might just lost it completely. but he still wasn't going to thing of the negative. all he was going to think of was the positive outcomes. he did not need to bring himself down for over nothing while he watched his little girl play with her two favorite barbies. now, it was jaspar and misty time. now, he wasn't going to worry about a thing. when jager got here, he might worry about it then. but for now, all his focus was on the little girl in the sand next to him. a smile flooding over his features as he watched her let her imagination go to work and giggles fell between her little pink lips. this was a good time in jaspar's life. he had the one thing that had kept him sane for the past four years at his side. the one thing he had missed so, so much while he's been away. but she was finally here with him. even if it was only for a short time. thankfully, a day off was enough to give them time to be together for the day. he just knew that he would be having trouble saying good bye when it came time for her to leave back for chicago.
"daddy," the small voice interrupted him from thinking anymore, and yeah, that might have been a good thing. "i missed you." jaspar looked down at the girl, eyes looking over the small frown on her face. "i m-missed you t-too, baby," he said to her, running a hand over her long brown hair. "why haven't you been home?" she asked, the pout fully forming on her lips as she did so. "daddy's b-been busy w-working," he managed to get out, quietly as his brown eyes caught her own blue ones. that might have been the one thing he loved about her features: her eyes. they were just like her mother's, which he was glad for. but then again, jaspar had never really been fond of anything to do with his looks or features. and yeah, his thoughts about it might have improved just a little bit within the time he had been with jager. he didn't feel as ugly or unwanted. and yeah, he might have been a little self-conscious about the very little bump forming on his stomach now. he guessed thats' just what happened when you ate food and kept it down. though, it might have been what his body needed. he sure as hell felt better physical with the proper digestion going on in his system. though, he might have to admit that jager's cooking might have been just a little too good for him to not keep in his stomach. (and so, so much better than his mother's, not that he would admit that or anything.) and he might have been a little afraid that jager might have been catching onto his little habits. but.. moving on.
"now," he said, changing the subject and picking up the abandoned ken doll from its place in the sand. "wasn't k-ken 'bout to j-join barbie at the beach?" he asked, smiling down at misty. the little girl grinned at him before picking up the barbie back up. and they just played like that for who knows how long. truthfully, jaspar was probably getting weird looks for playing with barbies, but he didn't care. not now at least. not while he was here with his daughter. yeah, he might have been wrapped around that little girl’s finger. maybe he should have been a little more strict with her than he was, but he couldn't really help it. one look with those big blue eyes and he couldn't stop himself from saying "no." maybe that was how he was with another pair of eyes. but these ones, they were much older and a beautiful shade of brown. not that he would ever exactly admit to it either. if it was ever mentioned, he was sure he'd just smile that shy little smile of his and deny any of it. that just might be that little stubborn streak he had in him at least. yeah, it was a really small one, but it was still there nonetheless. and it didn't show out too much. and that might have really been a good thing.
he jumped slightly at the feeling of someone next to him. turning his eyes over at the person, a smile appeared on his lips at the sight of his boyfriend. though, he almost blushed at the realization that he was indeed holding (and playing) with a ken doll. (and with no problems at all either until now.) but he quickly turned his attention over at misty, who was staring up at jager, and inching herself close to jaspar. he smiled softly at the girl as he placed his hand on her back. "it's o-okay, misty," he said, quietly, rubbing her back just a bit. "this is," he paused, unable to force that lie of an introduction out from his lips. "th-this is jager," he finished, biting his bottom lip a bit as he watched his daughter. the little girl looked back and forth between the two before keeping her eyes on jager. a small, shy smile formed on her lips (one that could almost match her father's) as one of her hands raised up and waved at the boy. "hi," misty spoke, shyly as he rested her head on her father's leg. jaspar smiled down at her while running a hand over her hair once again.
now, now this had been what jaspar was probably scared for. but things seemed to be good so far. his teeth grazed over his rosy bottom lip as his eyes looked away from misty and over to jager. and he really couldn't help the feeling flipping through his body. he took it as a good sigh though. his boyfriend and his daughter were both together with him. and yeah, this was all he really needed. anything more would be just too much for him, and anything less wouldn't be enough. on day, he hoped his daughter would feel this... happiness that he was feeling now. sure, there were a few things he would hope that would be different. but no matter what, he wanted misty to one day fall in love, like he loved jager. just as long as the feeling was returned though. heartbreak was one of the things he hoped his daughter would ever have to feel.
as he looked over at jager, a smile slipped onto his lips again. those brown eyes scanning over his boyfriend's face, admiring the way the sun reflected off the older male's tanned skin. sometimes, jaspar wondered how he ended up with someone like him, someone so beautiful and almost too good for him. but he still had him, and it didn't look like he was feeling anytime soon. and that might have been the reason why his body subconsciously leaned closer to the boy as he watched him for that short period of time. but before it could have been considered staring, he turned his attention away from him, back to misty. the girl looked oh so shy, and this wasn't the way he was used to misty. but he could understand. new people always caused the nerves to get going, even in little kids. but he just wished that she would open up to jager. maybe then, he could be completely happy. not that he was complaining about his happiness now that is.

If you would of asked Jager if he would of thought he would be having children a few years ago, the answer would have been no. It wasn’t that he didn’t like kids; he always has. It was the fact that he could never focus himself enough into keeping himself clean to become something that would resemble a parent. Really, Misty wasn’t his. She was Jaspar’s. But if he planned on going through with the little idea that the boy had been thinking about for weeks now, it was very possible for Misty to become his step daughter. It would be better to meet her first rather than to just pop the question for Jaspar. The boy had family he still needed to meet; still needed to get to know before he could really settle in easy with the thought of marrying Jaspar. Jaspar had it easy. With Jager being an only child and his parents dying a few years ago, he along had an aunt or two to meet. Nothing like the large family Jager was trying to ready himself for. It didn’t bother him, though. He was rather good at meeting new people. Just the fact that this was Jaspar’s family made it different. He needed their acceptance in order to be able to be with Jaspar like he wanted to be. Of course, Jager wouldn’t let what anyone else thinks get in the way. But he knew it would affect Jaspar if his family didn’t approve. Both parts of the relationship had to want it in order for it to work. There didn’t need to be any distraction. Jager couldn’t control how things went. Hell, if he could he’d be able to rule the world. But he wasn’t really that smart yet. Even though he was older than Jaspar, it seemed like Jager was learning something new from the boy everyday.
But if it hadn’t been for Jaspar, Jager didn’t know where he’d be. He had to admit, that year he’d spent isolating himself from any chance at a relationship had been hard on him. Of course, it had been Jager’s choice to stay alone like he had. But it seemed better for him that way. If he would of given in right when he had came back, he would of fell back into that same routine of a different person every night. He didn’t want that. The position he was in now was a rather comfortable one. Being able to be at Jaspar’s side when he needed him (and when he didn’t) made Jager feel good about himself. The boy would probably never really know what he had done for Jager. It was more than just turn his life back in the right path. It had turned his world upside down in a good kind of way.
Turning those deep chocolate eyes on his boyfriend, he let the look of pure adoration filter through his gaze. Offering a quiet smile, Jager turned his attention back to Misty. She really was beautiful. Seeing the little parts of Jaspar making up the suddenly shy girl’s outlook made Jager feel a sort of feeling of want. He wanted something of his own; their own. Of course, that obviously wasn’t possible, but he could dream, couldn’t he? Him and Jaspar having a family sounded like a pretty good idea. Even if they couldn’t really have a child together, it wouldn’t stop Jager from wanting something like that. It would be nice to be called ‘daddy’ every once in a while. Trying to bring the thoughts back to where he was instead of his own wishes, he let his own eyes connect with the shy but obviously sweet blue coloring that was looking back at him. His smile softened more and he shifted his weight over his feet to get more comfortable. Jager didn’t miss the way that Jaspar seemed to lean closer toward his body. He watched the boy out of the corner of his eye before hearing Jaspar speak and offer that Jager wasn’t anything to be afraid of. If anything, he’d be someone the little girl could learn to enjoy being with. Watching the small girl’s hand lift and her tiny hand motion back and forth in a welcoming gesture, Jager couldn’t help but feel his heart jump and the smile perk over his plush lips.
That smile. He’d seen it before. It was the same smile he received every morning when his eyes stammered open in a tired haze with his arms entangled around Jaspar’s thin body. Seeing that smile every morning when he woke up always made him give a returning smile, just as he was now. Lifting his right hand, he wiggled his fingers at the girl with his eyes never leaving her face. “It’s nice to meet you. Your daddy sure has told me a lot about you.” Turning his eyes to Jaspar, he gave him a sort of knowing smile. He understood now; what it was like to adore someone so much. He understood why Jaspar was so in love with his daughter. She was the mirror image of perfection in the best ways of deliverance. Sure, sometimes he couldn’t be around her as much as he wanted to be but at least when he got to see that face, it always seemed to bright his whole day. The smile that seemed never ending on his boyfriend’s lips now seemed like a larger imitation of the smile that he got when ever he got to have those phone conversations with the girl. Somewhere in the back of his head, he promised himself that he’d have children. One day. It didn’t have to be now or next year. He just knew that sometime in his life, he was going to have a child of his own to adore in the same way Jaspar adored Misty. That didn’t mean Jager couldn’t feel the same for Misty; he was very much already hooked on the girl as it was.
The way those precious eyes seemed so shy behind that smile and cute bunch of slight curl was enough to make Jager want to hang on her every word. But something told him that this wouldn’t be half as good if Jaspar weren’t there with him. Where ever he went, he always felt comfortable if Jaspar was beside him. It was as if the boy was carrying Jager’s troubles away if any started to present themselves.
Easing his body back on his heels, he felt his legs physically thank him from the exchange of weight. It felt like his ankles were going to break if he didn’t change his position soon. Turning his eyes down to the sand, he caught the sight of the Barbie doll, or rather, ken doll close to Jaspar’s free hand. Arching an eyebrow, he shot his boyfriend a look before turning his eyes back to the young girl with his smile growing for a different reason. “Hey Misty, you want some ice cream?” His head tilted to the side, looking completely innocent with his smile stretching over his face in an almost too wide grin.

HIS CHOCOLATE EYES WATCHED THE TWO with him. and that smile on his lips just grew a little bit wider. if that was possibly at least. this was a taking them a step closer to where ever it was they were headed. sure, he still had the proposal promise still in his head, but he didn't know if it was going to live out. maybe someday in the future, he'd have a ring around that finger and the ability to say that jager was truly all his. but he wasn't going to mention it. he wanted to be surprised whenever the question was slipped properly. whether it be jager or himself that did it. he didn't want to rush it, ruin it. after all, he thought that he had the ability to ruin things just a bit too easily. but that just might have been his own opinions. the oh so familiar paranoid thoughts that slipped through his mind like those familiar normal thoughts. it wasn't hard at all for them to appear. though, he knew, always knew, that they could be so much worse then they were. now, he wasn't freaking out. now, he wasn't having a fit, arguing with his own imagination. no. he was sane, for now. he was completely at ease. well, as much as he could be at least. of course, there were thoughts that would never leave his mind. like those ones where he was always self conscious about himself. yeah, no matter what, he'll always feel that there was at least one thing wrong with him. and yeah, he did know of the universal law of "nobody's perfect." but he always felt so, so far from it that that he felt it was impossible for him to reach it. but he kept most of those thoughts to himself. he didn't need to worry anyone with his negativity. absolutely not.
the smile on her face lit up some at jager's comment, eyes shining as she looked up at jaspar. the father smiled down at her, cheeks turning a light shade of red. sometimes, it would embarrass him how much he talked about her. but we already know why that is. she was the one thing that had always kept him sane. "has he?" she asked, looking back over at jager. those blue, blue eyes shining bright as the happiness poured from her voice. "i talk about you a lot before," she added on, almost as a second thought, as she looked over at her father. "right?" jaspar nodded, biting his bottom lip gently as he felt his cheeks heat up just a bit more. his eyes darted over at jager for a moment, smiling at him some. maybe, someday, it could be like this a lot more. when the tour was over and they were able to just chill out for a bit. that would be nice. waking up next to jager and not have to really worry about getting out out of bed by a certain time. well, there would be some times that were like that, but not as often as they were now. maybe by then his family will finally know and he could feel comfortable with having jager staying at his house in chicago for a bit. though, as he thought about it, it was embarrassing that he still lived with his parents. but the boy really hasn't had the time, or money, or confidence, to move out of the house yet.
the nerves that were sitting inside of him were calming now. they all seemed good now. neither one of them really seemed to dislike the other. not yet at least. but he wasn't going to think of that. he let out a small sigh of relief as he brought his eyes down on his daughter, who was still looking at jager with a bit of curiosity before looking up at him and smiled. he smiled back, and yeah, he was still glad that he went through that rough patch and got her into his life. though, he would never suggest going out and getting pregnant or getting someone pregnant at a young age. he was still too young when misty was born, and was still had a lot of growing up to do before she was born. but he dealt with it. when he had her at least. though, he could never really say much on the complete subject. it was karen that had her most of the time, had to deal with her the most. and she was younger than he was. even if it was only a year. there was always that difference in maturity, ability, between the ages. big or small. every little thing worked a role in it. but they both made it through okay. and there was now a beautiful, healthy girl attached to him. he could never let her go.
jaspar watched as her eyes widened and looked up at him after jager's question. "can we daddy?" she asked, looking back up at him. and really, was he supposed to say no to those wide, excited blue eyes? he didn't think so. "of c-course." he answered. and it hadn't really been too long before the girl was jumping up from he place and running to grab jager's hand. to be honest, he wasn't even sure he had even finished speaking by the time she was up. "misty," he stopped the girl, "a-aren't you forgetting s-something?" he asked, looking back down at where her dolls laid scattered around the box. his eyebrows raised as she just simply smiled at him. she worked her way back and picked up the barbies while jaspar held out the bag for them to go in. "okay, n-now you can g-go torture him," he said as he closed the bag and stood up. he watched her once again hurry over to where his boyfriend was and grab onto his hand.
he watched the two with amusement shining through his expression. misty tugging on jager's hand to hurry him along just to get the over-sugared mess. but the smile, the grin, on her face was all worth it. threading one of his arms through the bag, allowing it to rest against his back, he smiled at the two once again. yes, he could definitely live like this. with the two of them liking each other. and just.. it was really almost perfect. but there wasn't anything a few minor adjustments couldn't do in order to correct that into full perfection. okay, maybe there was, but jaspar wasn't going to ruin the mood by thinking of that.

As possibly wrong and pedophile-ish as it sounded, Jager really wished it were possible to stay a kid your whole life. Though it was, it just wasn’t the right way to life. The world was far too cruel to ever let someone pull off being a child their whole life without them feeling as if they’d failed or actually failing. But that was just living up to the societies expectations. That was a changing definition every day. But everything that anyone found hard, they liked to compare it to how simple it had been before they had ‘grown up’. But you never really grew up. You just aged along with the rest of the people surrounding you and that’s how you knew to get older and work toward life. When you were a kid, you had everyone supporting you and helping you along the way until it was the time for you to drop out of ‘the nest’ and find a life of your own. School could only educate you so far before you were starting to get it that not everything you learned in a class room was going to prepare you for your life out in the ‘real world’. Jager could remember being younger and wishing he was older just so he could do something legally. Then, he grew to the point where he didn’t care about the limits and he just did them anyway. There was a reason to that. He had grew up around those kinds of people that didn’t listen to the rules and that had affected him when he had reached their age in time when they didn’t respect what they had going for them.
In all the recklessness of his thoughts, he was actually proving a point to himself. Even though he couldn’t just be a big ol’ kid like he wanted to be all the time, there were still moments when he’d be able to let it all loose and live like he wanted to life. But in order to do that, you needed to be happy with the life you were living. There would always be the little things that he wished he could improve, but in the end, he had everything that he needed. He had some place to call his own. Home was the key to really getting a start. Then he had a good job and he enjoyed what he did. Entertaining other people for the sake of their benefit and his alike was the best kind of employment he could think of. And last, but of course, the most important. Jaspar. Jager was so sure that he had found the one person that made his world stop in orbit and change directions completely that he had already started looking for that ring. He had already began making the plans and practicing the words he would say. He didn’t need a forever. He just needed a right now and maybe later. That way, he’d always be prepared to deal with something if he needed to. Of course, he wasn’t really looking forward to any hardships in his life, but who did? If we could have it all be smooth sailing, we’d be living a pretty dull life. There would be no need for recovery, and then, nothing would truly be good in the first place.
The child before him probably had it better than Jager ever could of. But he wasn’t ungrateful for what he had had. He knew his parents had tried to the best of their ability to raise him properly. They hadn’t failed; it had just simply been too hard to steer away from trouble when you had a teenage boy who you couldn’t care for because your husband was all of a sudden going insane. Jager was happy for Misty and Jaspar alike. They were lucky to have a close relationship as they did. Growing up, he had isolated himself away from his father because of the way his dad had never really ever been sane after what he had gone through. Now, after going through the same thing just minus the insanity, he understood. It was easier to forgive and forget rather than to dwell on things and let them become something when it was nothing in the first place.
A soft, rather content sigh dropped from his lips was he watched the young girl’s bright blue eyes turn to catch Jaspar’s face in her question of acceptance. Jager could feel his own lips winding down from that grin and turning into a sweeter smile as his own eyes lifted to watch his boyfriend’s face. Again, the clear look of adoration was present in his features. Jager would give up every bad family member just to make room to remember this one for as long as he lived. Feeling his own kind of childish excitement at the news of being able to get ice cream, Jager’s eyes flicked back to the girl and watched as her small frame danced toward him. Her tiny hand pressured against his palm and he instantly felt a warmth wash over him at the small touch. It had been so unexpected but brillant at the same time. Okay, so Jaspar could throw all the ‘I told you so’s at him later. Now, he was having a little too much of a good time being able to be around the younger girl. Of course, he had to remind himself this was Jaspar’s only time for Misty for a long time again. He wouldn’t want to take too much of it away; but this was sort of the whole point of him come to the park. Now that it seemed like they had gotten over the whole hard part of the introduction, he was easing into the comfortable feeling of being eased into this sort of extended family invitation.
Just was soon as the warmth was there, it vanished along with it’s provider. Jager lifted his body from the position he had been in. Now in his full height, he sort of towered over both the younger girl and Jaspar; just less of the eldest of the two. Letting his eyes settle on Jaspar’s face while his daughter put the toys she had tagged only with them, he watched. By the time they had to take Misty back to Karen for the night, he was positive he was going to have to fix a slightly broken heart over the course of the night. But Jager was okay with that. Anything he could do the comfort the one person he loved most, he’d do it.
Feeling his lips dart into a wide smile at the touch of the smaller hand in his again, he easily followed after the tug that was carrying him toward the ice cream stand not far off. Jager couldn’t help but giggle at Misty’s eagerness. Glancing over his shoulder back at Jaspar, he gave him a more comfortable smile before mouthing the words he felt he could never say enough. I love you, he mouthed before he had to quickly turn and look down toward Misty’s direction when he had received a slightly harder pull on his hand. Even though Jager had to bend his knees more and lean in toward the smaller girl, he didn’t mind at all. His height had it’s advantages and it’s disadvantages. He learned to deal with them. Once they had reached the stand, Jager leaned down and easily hoisted the small girl up and balanced her against his hip. His easy smile never lift his lips as he looked at the almost equal height of eyes. “What’a you gonna get, kido?” Tilting his head some, he looked forward at the people in front of them, being patient and waiting in line. He turned and eyes over toward Jaspar. Holding his gaze on his beautiful face for just a minute before speaking in almost the same childish tone. “And you?”

JASPAR HAD PROBABLY WORKED TOO HARD when it came to misty. he wanted everything to be good for her, as perfect as he could make it. sure, this may often consider the girl as spoiled and he may have gotten yelled at by karen a few times for it. naturally though, he hadn't listened to her as he still spoiled her more than he should. yeah, he should work on that. in the long run it could possibly turn into something bad. and he would have ultimately regretted giving the girl whatever she wanted at this age. but he couldn't really help it all that much. how was he supposed to resist those big blue eyes? yeah, jaspar was a sucker. and he was aware of this, even if he did deny it on countless occasions. maybe the boy was too wrapped around that girl's little finger. too determined to make something good out of her life. but maybe jaspar didn't want her to have to struggle to get something that she wanted. like he had done with he was a kid. but then again, he had also had four sisters to compete with at different stages. and being the middle child out of them all, well, he did get ignored on some occasions. not many, but a few. okay, so the growing up circumstances were different by a lot. and he was probably just overdoing it. but this was jaspar we are talking about. he worried over nothing.
to be honest, jaspar wasn't sure that a smile had ever left his lips through most of the day. and he was pretty sure that his face might hurt later from the curved stretch of his lips, but how the fuck could he not smile? he had his daughter. and now, he had his boyfriend here with them. and they were getting along better than he had thought. and he still wasn't going to let the fact that it was still too early to make the final decision about the relationship the two would have ruin his mind. no. right now was all that mattered. at least jager now knew why he talked about her more than anything. well, almost. whenever she was brought up at least. but what could he say? she was his shining star. nothing could ever really replace her.
and yeah, there was still a smile on his lips as he watched the two as he was a few steps behind them as they headed to the ice cream stand. watching jager being dragged by a four year old was pretty amusing (and maybe seeing the words the older male had mouthed at him had caused that smile to grow just a bit more). at least he wasn't complaining about it. in fact, he probably looked just as happy as she was as she ran excitedly over. rolling his eyes a bit, he had to laugh just a bit at the two. and the chuckle did fall easily from his lips as he watched jager picked up the girl. and yeah, he was a big nervous about it. but his boyfriend wouldn't let her fall. jaspar was just being a paranoid freak again. he shook the thought out of his head as he stood next to the two, admiring the smiles on both their faces.
misty blinked for a second at jager's question. "i want chocolate!" she announced after a moment's thought, a grin still wide on her face as he looked over at the taller boy. and maybe she was subconsciously thankful for not having to crane her neck up just so she could see his face. "with sprinkles." she looked over at her father, still grinning as her head fell onto jager's shoulder. and really, jaspar's smile had to grow up a bit more. even if there was a small amount of concern running through him at how friendly she was being. he really hoped that she was n't like that with post people she met. or just strangers in general. after all, there really wasn't anyone that she had to be introduced to in her life. he didn't have many friends that were indirectly involved with her life already. yeah, jager was the first. maybe that should have been weird, but he didn't see it as though. but as long as they got along, that's all that mattered.
the nineteen year old turned his attention back onto his boyfriend at the question, before shaking his head. "i'm g-good," he said, before a hand reached up squeezed misty's side as to tickle her. and yeah, the then fell into a spell of giggles as he did so, trying to wiggle away from him with a "daddy, stop!" "i'm sure th-this little monster c-can share, right?" he said, still smiling at misty. the girl nodded, now thankful that her father had stopped. but his hand didn't move too far after he had finished. it had fallen from the girl's side and took a momentary pause on jager's hand. he gave it a small squeeze, maybe letting it linger there for longer than need before taking it away. he moved up some while the line moved forward. the hand that had been on jager's moved to adjust the strap of the backpack. and yeah, he was glad that he was a father. otherwise he might have been just a little embarrassed by wearing the bright pink, flower-covered thing. though, he probably wouldn't have been wearing it if he wasn't a father to bring with. hell, he might have even been here if he wasn't. who knows where he'd be.
he blinked the thought away from his mind mind and focused on the now. his eyes landed on jager again, taking in his face for a moment before his lips parted so he could speak. ""and w-what about you?" he asked back, cocking an eyebrow with a slight trace of amusement flooding through his expression. and yeah, he was aware that jager could act like a kid. well, that he was a kid at heart. and maybe that could have played into why he loved him. maybe. but he wasn't bound to go sorting through his reason for why he felt that way. no, it wasn't really appropriate for the time being, now was it?

Family had never been a good thing for Jager. He’d been an only child and somewhere deep down he convinced himself that he didn’t want to be alone. He had wanted a little sibling he could do good for. Maybe the fact that he was alone and had all of his parents attention was the main, or at least once of the causes for his outrageous activities when he had been a teenager. Jager had been involved with the worse kind of people and the worst kind of things for a teenage boy who was an only child and had little to no relationship at all with his parents, could get into. He was going from being isolated out of having a close relationship with someone to engaging in promising himself and Jaspar that he’d be in this relationship for a long, long time from now. Jager didn’t know what to believe. Before, love had just been a sick trick of the mind; an illusion that so many untrained eyes fell for. He hadn’t under gone any special training for it either. Maybe it was just the far and few like him that took the chance to step back and really look at what this love thing was before deciding that it was just all propaganda from the wonderful constructors that made up their crazy society was it was today. Jager was okay with the way he had grew up though. Sure, walking in and seeing your parents dead on the kitchen floor could be pretty bad and what not but he learned to get over it when he was put there stress like his parents had been. He had a better understanding of his childhood now and he wasn’t about to go back to being that kid that everyone liked for all the wrong reasons.
When ti came to comparing Jaspar to family though, Jager wasn’t really sure where he could classify himself in there. Misty, obviously was his daughter and Jaspar was obviously the girls father. But beyond that, where was label that Jager needed to be pressured with? He knew that Jaspar had a large family. All of those sisters and his parents living happily back home near Chicago. Jager hadn’t been exposed to that kind of family since he had been a little boy going back to Mexico for that family gathering to grace the new baby added into the family. Of course, he hardly remembered that horrid event but something told him that that was a good thing. Jaspar seemed like the type of boy that would be from a nice family; so that was one thing that Jager didn’t have to worry about, wasn’t it? It wasn’t that he was seeking acceptance. Oh no. Because either way if Jaspar’s parents and siblings didn’t accept that he was with another man, he wouldn’t let their relationship deteriorate that easily. He cared too much for Jaspar to just let someone so special slip through his grasp based on other peoples opinions. Really, nothing should matter to them or to who ever was brave enough to be able to come out with the reality of things and actually letting other people know that, hey, I’m comfortable with who I am even if I am a homo. Jager wouldn’t forget the day he told his parents. His father of course had just been lightened into the idea that his son was into fucking other guys. But his mother how ever had to deal with most of it. At first, she’d tried to tell Jager that he was just going through a phase. Yeah. It was just a phase.
Here he was almost six years late holding his boyfriend’s daughter securely in his arm against his thin but well muscled hip. The sound of that girl’s booming voice made Jager jump out of his thoughts. Well, not literally, but good enough. He turned those dense chocolate eyes on her, mimicking the smile that was brightened over her flush pink lips. He looked at the line ahead of them, seeing a few eyes catching on Misty and then turn to Jager with a ‘aw, she’s cute but your cuter’ look staggering over there face. Instantly, he felt the urge to just be closer to Jaspar. Shifting his weight nervously, he darted his eyes toward his boyfriend and felt that comfort Jaspar always seemed to allow him to have slid over him and comfort the rush of need for closeness he had been feeling just minutes ago. Clearing his throat, he tightening his hold on the small girl’s body when Jaspar started to tickle her tiny sides. Giggling at the scene himself, he lifted his hand and straightened the little girl’s shirt once she was setting back into his hold. He dropped his hand, feeling those fingers bump against his. Thinking it had been a mistake, Jager glanced down at their hands and felt the way those fingertips easily soothed into his skin just briefly enough for Jager to feel the heat flickering over his body and shaking from the way his nerves seemed to jolt alive and jump start his heart into a whole new beat of his own. His lips drifted into a smile when he felt that hand close around his and give a comforting squeeze. Jager resisted the urge to squeal and slide right up against Jaspar’s side and bring himself into that small body for the warmth he was starting to crave.
This was presenting to be more of a challenge than Jager thought it would be. But it was a challenge for different reasons. He had thought that getting to know Misty would have been hard. Now, with his arms holding the girl protectively close into the curve of his side, that seemed like his worries for that should be long gone. Now, he was fighting off the need to have Jaspar close. They hadn’t gone this long without physical touch in a long, long time. Ever since their relationship had started, Jager had made it clear that he was the type that enjoyed physical affection. Ever since the day he had asked Jaspar over and had ended up letting the other stay in his apartment, it seemed like Jager had become infused with the younger boy. He enjoyed their contact so much that the people around them had started to notice the way that Jager was always closer to Jaspar now. Before when they had just been friends, it had only been casual talking. Now though, it was as if Jager was addicted to that connection between them. He needed it in order to keep his thoughts clean of starting to come into need for his addiction. This was good though. He knew that things needed to be introduced slowly instead of diving head first in. That was like doing a canon ball in three feet of water. Swallowing, Jager turned those sweet chocolate eyes on his boyfriend and let their gazes settle for a long while. Even after Jaspar spoke; almost free of that adorable stutter of his, he still didn’t respond right away. Instead, Jager just adjusted Misty his hold on Misty and let the adoration he was feeling for the boy he was current gazing at fix in on those deep chocolate eyes.
He glanced back at the flavors, making sure they had his favorite kind before speaking in a soft toned voice. “Strawberry,” he answered simply. Thinking quiet to himself, he blinked. This was so not the time to be thinking about how strawberry whipped cream would taste good on certain parts of Jaspar’s body. Clearing his throat and feeling completely dirty for those thoughts slipping through his head while he was holding his boyfriend’s daughter. When the vendor opened up with the line finally departing in front of him, he smiled as he stepped forward and ordered what they needed. Some how managing to grab his wallet from the tight back pocket of his skinny fitting jeans, Jager forwarded the cash and slid the leather unit back into place. Carefully handing Misty her own cone, he was sure to get plenty of napkins and stuff them in his front pocket so they would be easy to get at. Letting his tongue move forward and lick against the top of the ice cream, he hummed a pleased noise and glanced at Jaspar. They were still close enough to the ice cream vendor if he needed to turn back. “Are you sure you don’t want anything?” His deep chocolate eyes focused on those slightly lighter brandy colored eyes. Offering a slightly more than friendly smile before he licked his ice cream again.
